Top 5 Questions About Penile Girth Enhancement

As a board-certified urologist and UroFill® Trusted Provider, these are the questions I hear most from men considering penile girth enhancement.

Penile girth enhancement is one of the most requested cosmetic urology procedures today — and one of the most misunderstood. Men researching the procedure online are often met with conflicting information, exaggerated marketing claims, and providers with questionable credentials.

Here are the five questions I answer most frequently in my practice, along with straightforward, medically grounded answers.

1

Is penile girth enhancement safe?

This is the number one question — and it should be. The short answer: yes, when performed correctly by the right provider.

The UroFill® technique uses a medical-grade dermal filler — the same class of product used in facial augmentation — injected beneath the penile skin under local anesthesia. The technique has over eight years of clinical data, and to date, no serious complications have been reported when performed by a trained provider following the established protocol.

The key word is “trained provider.” Penile anatomy is complex — the blood supply, nerves, and fascial layers require a provider who understands them intimately. That's why this procedure should be performed by a board-certified urologist, not a med spa or general practitioner.

2

What kind of results can I realistically expect?

Realistic expectations are critical. Most patients see an increase of approximately 0.25 to 0.5 inches in circumference per staged injection of 2–6 cc's of filler. Larger results require multiple sessions, spaced at least two weeks apart.

Results are visible immediately after the procedure. A minor reduction of about 10% in the first month is normal — this is due to dispersal of the local anesthetic and resolution of injection-site swelling. Beyond that, clinical data supports approximately 90% retention of girth at 4 years.

The goal is a natural, proportional enhancement — not a dramatic transformation. We sculpt the result progressively so you're in control at every step.

3

How much does it cost?

Penile girth enhancement is a cosmetic procedure and is not covered by insurance. Pricing varies based on the amount of filler used and the number of sessions needed to reach your goal.

At our practice, we provide transparent pricing at your consultation — no hidden fees, no upselling. You'll know exactly what to expect before committing to the procedure. You can also visit our pricing page or call our office at 310-697-5325 for current rates.

When evaluating cost, consider the provider's qualifications. A lower price from a non-urologist provider may come with higher risk. This is your body — it's worth investing in a specialist.

4

What is recovery like?

One of the biggest advantages of UroFill® is the minimal downtime. The procedure takes about 30 minutes, is performed entirely in-office under local anesthesia, and most patients return to work the same day.

After the procedure, a light gauze wrap is applied for 24 hours to minimize bruising. You can expect some bruising and minor soft tissue irregularities for approximately one week — both resolve on their own.

Sexual activity can resume after 72 hours. If you notice any asymmetry or irregularities, we offer a modeling appointment within the first week for gentle massage to smooth the result. A second sculpting session is available two weeks later for additional girth or fine-tuning.

5

Why should I choose a urologist over a med spa?

This is the most important question on this list.

A board-certified urologist has years of specialized training in penile anatomy — the vasculature, nerves, fascial layers, and functional structures that non-urologists simply don't study. This knowledge is critical for injecting filler safely, avoiding complications, and achieving natural, symmetrical results.

Med spas and general practitioners offering “penile filler” may use non-standardized techniques, non-urological products, or lack the training to manage complications. The UroFill® technique is specifically designed for penile tissue and is only performed by trained, certified providers.

As a UroFill® Trusted Provider personally trained by Dr. Paul Perito — the urologist who pioneered the technique — I bring both the surgical expertise and the cosmetic precision that this procedure demands.

The Bottom Line

Penile girth enhancement is a legitimate, safe procedure when performed by a qualified urologist using a proven technique. The key is choosing the right provider — one with specialized training in penile anatomy, transparent pricing, and a track record of natural results.

If you're considering penile girth enhancement in the Los Angeles, South Bay, or Orange County area, I'm happy to answer your questions in a confidential consultation.
